Tynemouth Castle (And Priory)

A castle and priory at the mouth of the Tyne

Tynemouth Castle (And Priory)

Tynemouth castle enclosed the priory within it. With a active military occupation lasting until the second world war some of the landscape is now confused but the medieval gatehouse and priory church ruins make for an impressive sight.
